When your business needs clarity and a way forward - not more process, decks or workshops - Tempered Thinking brings experienced judgement to help you decide what matters and what to do next.

“A rare force in brand and growth strategy - equal parts visionary and collaborator.”

How this works

Tempered Thinking is the independent strategic practice of Catrióna Campbell, a trusted advisor to boards, brands and founders with 20 years + of senior strategic leadership experience.

This is not a consultancy, more so a chance to borrow a brain to work with your business as it navigates growth. You get direct access with no layers: just focus, experience, and honest challenge.

Together, we’ll identify what really matters and develop practical ways forward that work in the real world.

Ways in

Here are the key ways we can work together: focused conversations designed to move your business forward.

Want to know more?

I don’t publish case studies or pricing. Every business is different, and discretion is part of the work. But, I’m happy to chat through how I’ve approached similar challenges - what worked, what didn’t, and what might apply to you. If that sounds useful, let’s have a chat.

About me.

After two decades in agencies, - the last 10 as Managing Director - I wanted to work differently.

The MD role required my attention to be spread across many responsibilities. Now I can work in greater depth, focusing on a small number of organisations where experienced judgment can make a real difference. Through Tempered Thinking, I focus on strategic work that helps leaders get clear on what matters, challenge assumptions, and make better decisions.

I led The Public House through a decade of transformation, growing it from a small independent agency into a €6m creative business, and continue to support its long-term direction as a Non-Executive Director and owner.

Over the years, I’ve worked with senior leaders across organisations including FBD Insurance, Redbreast Irish Whiskey, Dunnes Stores, Volkswagen, Cadbury Ireland, EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, and the Department of Health (UK), helping them navigate growth, complexity, and change.

Alongside this, I support founders including Fierce Mild, and hold voluntary board roles with Engaging Dementia and Ana Liffey Drug Project that keep my perspective grounded in governance and public impact.

What I’m known for is getting to the heart of complex issues quickly, asking the questions that need asking, and helping teams move from discussion to clear, confident decisions.

I work with a small number of organisations who value direct, senior-level strategic input.

Testimonials

“I have been working with Cat for a number of years and certainly in my almost twenty years working in global brand roles she is one of the strongest strategists I have come across.

Her value lies in her ability to really get under the skin of a brand and business and deliver strategies that have a commercial goal in mind. She is brave with her ideas, unafraid to challenge and a real straight shooter which I really appreciate”

Laura Hanratty Head of Prestige & Speciality Whiskey,
